Our Black History Month Essay Contest Launches in 5 Baltimore City Elementary and Elementary/Middle Schools today! We are anticipating volumes of essays to be pouring in for our readers and judges to review!
The theme for the contest is: “Celebrating 50 years after the “I Have a Dream speech: Are we moving closer to Dr. King’s vision or have we moved farther from his dream ?
The topics are :
- What does Civil Rights mean to me?
- Why is it important?
- Would Dr. King be happy with where his Dream is today?
- Has Dr. King’s Dream been actualized?
The Contest starts on November 13, 2013 and end on January 13, 2014. Submissions can be entered via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or in person.
The 2 winners from each school will be posted on the Men and Families Center’s website, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin pages.
